Fan Girl – A Crazy Lady!
Inspired by a circa 1910 crazy quilt, this workshop puts a fresh spin on a fan block that’s quick, playful, and full of possibilities.
We’ll build our blocks from squares in your fabric stash using simple appliqué methods, then add texture with decorative machine stitching—or with a simple herringbone embroidery stitch that turns your appliqué into a standout design element.
This one’s perfect for confident beginners ready to try something new and for seasoned stitchers looking to loosen up and have some fun. You’ll walk away with bold, graphic blocks that work great in a pillow, table runner, or full quilt—your choice. (Fabric requirements for all three options are included in the pattern.)
Techniques: Raw-edge machine applique, hand embroidery (optional)
